if i ever got married

id have kanpai cater it.

drove across town, right next to LAX on the day before turkey day

which took longer than it should, because of the promise to eat this delicacy with a beautiful girl.

lucky us the place was empty at 3pm. they used to be closed at that time but i guess they figured what the hell. the good news for us, most people thought theyd be closed.

the food, im telling you, melts in your mouth.

everything is created in such a way that it wants to jump in your belly.

and the beer was in a frosty mug, and the saki was in a steaming little cup of buzz.

the truest loved it, obvs, then bailed to prepare for demain.

so i went shopping at the new fox hills mall.

then i went shopping at borders books. then i got a call from karisa, she wanted to drink and maybe get a bite.

she called over another friend and all three of us had really good mexican.

then karisa said hey lets get some bottles of wine and bring em back to the crib

so i went to the market, took a picture of this breaking news

and i saw that at this “package store”, as miss western mass said, that they had Cain V

but sorry i dont lay out $150 for a bottle of wine,

so i asked the dude, not expecting a good answer,

hey do you have Cain Cuvee by any chance?

and bros eyes got big and he brought out a feather duster

and right under the Cain V was three bottles of Cain Cuvee

and he dusted them off and handed me a bottle

which i accepted, and tomorrow im driving back there to get the other two

a brilliant man once said

“great life, crappy blog. boring life, great blog”

i guess my crappy life has gotten so much more lively because there is so much i havent shared with you. including the answers to ask tony, which i am dreadfully tardy in delivering, but first lemme tell you this, especially my canadian friends

firstly i heart you all. especially those of you who do not have the joy of celebrating an American Thanksgiving with us tomorrow.

one of the coolest things about this season in the US is we get half days on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. that would mean that today. that would me that i get off in just a few hours.

and since here in Los Angeles it’s going to crack 80 degress, that would mean that today i will take my truest to a sushi lunch and then maybe go to the beach and take off my shirt because as tom waits sings i look good without a shirt.

not Putin good, but im getting there.

so what am i thankful for this year? you and you and you and you and this and you and you.

xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

because i like to space out when i run around hollywood at night

i bought two cds last night

i got Rihanna’s new one cuz she my girl. and i got Adam Lambert’s because he my american idol.

both are stinky records.

i think theres something wrong with me in that i hate records when i first listen to them.

the Glambert one is really horrible. all the edge he had on Idol is glossed over. its super lame. part of me wishes that he had held on to some mystery in the days after he lost Idol. i say that because everything is just poppy and glammy without any true rock toughness.

he was the bad boy when he was surrounded by all those wannabes, but now that he’s doing his new thing theres nothing bad about him other than these horrible songs.

meanwhile Rihanna has a good reason to be dark and crazed and wild and in a way, free, this would be a good time to do that.

instead she whines about how her ex Chris Brown blew it, how she still loves him, and then she puts out the dares to the “rude boys”, asking them if they’re “big enough” for her.

is she insane?

the song is good though, but it would be better from somewhere else, or on a B-sides record. so much of her material on this new things would fall in the “too soon” category.

however the lesbian-centered “Te Amo” is perfect here. Dont ask why.

Crazy weekend this weekend

some of it xbi related which we will get to later when i answer the ask tony questions.

part of the crazy weekend involved seeing Precious with karisa at the Grove.

the Grove is a strange “mall” in the heart of LA. it’s really a lot like Disneyland and movie stars shop there sotherefore tourists and paparazzi are there, but i like the Grove for the Farmers Market which is super old school and dates back all the way to the 30s of LA.

(it was also immortalized in this photo essay starring omg danielle.)

the Grove is usually a pretty horrible place for guys like me to shop because they dont have a lot of stores for men, its typically very crowded because its super popular, and there are also lots of children that tend to get stepped on.

but i love the movie theatre there and like i said, the food. so karisa forced me to read Push by sapphire so we could see the film. karisa reads a ton, but she doesnt see many movies. at theatres. me, i see lots of films, but i dont read lots of books.

anyways the book was pretty good. the movie was pretty bad (if you read the book), but the conversation that karisa and i had after the film about the book and its treatment was great. in a way it helped us appreciate the movie more because in some ways the movie patched up some of the rough spots of the book. unfortch it also glossed over some of the more interesting parts of said novel.

we ate crepes while thousands of people gathered for the Lighting of the Tree.

Lonestar, Sean Paul, and I think the Pope were all going to perform. needless to say parking was crazy and the little children underfoot was a-plenty.

at the movies, there were even more children. apparently there was a film called Twilight that got everyone to rush to the movies to see, and who knew thered be little little kids for that?

i expected teens and tweens but not elementary kids with their moms.

afterwards i ran around my neighborhood and passed out in a sweaty heap and watched the bears end their season.

my mom asked if i had a picture with paul shaffer

when i interviewed him last month

sadly i am rarely so prepared.

how is it friday already? where does time go? was this a short week for you too? its crazy.

today i think im going to the horse track after work. tomorrow i think im going to a birthday party. and sunday i think im seeing a movie.

last night i ran about 4 miles. and what i loved about it was i tried this new iPhone app (whose name escapes me right now) that told me i ran 3.88 miles, at 4 mph. is that good? i also did it in 52 minutes. that cant be good.

but the best part was it showed me on a Google Map where i ran.

so many people are all, damn i wish i lived in the 50s or damn i wish i lived in the 1800s.

i am so glad i live right now, and im this age, and im doing this thing.

right down to – im so grateful that i get to write this post to all of you right now today on a friday morning before work.

had lunch with some very interesting people today

one of the dudes invented google news.

we didnt shake hands because we were about to eat lunch and

nowadays do you really wanna shake hands with a stranger

right before youre about to eat a burger?

i was eating salad.

and im sure my orange juice looked suspicious.

because of the lack of introduction,

i didnt even know he had invented google news

until about two hours after lunch.

funny how things work out that way.
