theres a big hole across the street from our building

i call it gregg’s hole because any time im in his office i always get inspired by it.

any time i look at this hole my creative juices start flowing cuz its like, what could you do with a huge giant hole in the middle of down town LA surrounded by cool buildings?

you could do anything.

what i love about this hole is its ability to retain water. we havent had rain here in quite a while but greggs hole not only has water in it but it has vegetation growing all around it.

the hole is supposed to be a court soon. but because of the economy etc they cant build it.

so i wanna put a skate park there.

and a pool.

to celebrate pitts birthday saturday

karisa and i went to the geisha house

because we know that ashton is pitts favorite. above is karisa texting pitt saying yo yo how u livin, g?

earlier in the day i sped up to isla vistuh because i heard that floatopia might happen, but for some reason the kids didnt wanna party at the beach now that the santa barbara supes had outlawed drinking beer on the beach. can you imagine that such an activity has been allowed for the last 100 years but as soon as a few thousand young adults want to do it the few dozen old adults want to throw a wet blanket on it? jeals much?

anyways whats the geisha house like? not bad. decent sushi, pretty girls in party dresses. a few bachelorette parties, a porn star, some starlets. im glad i went, wont be heartbroken if i never go back. afterwards k* went off to a girls night out of dancing, which i was also glad not to have to go through.

yesterday my truest stopped by and we did some shopping in santee alley, ate some fish tacos at The Best Fish Tacos in Ensenada, which is conveniently located on Hillhurst in Los Feliz. i bought a new cubs hat in the alley as well as some offensive tshirts.

we saw a truck with some athletic socks hanging from the side. 7 x $10 a sign said. who doesnt want 7 pairs of socks for such a great deal? but then i saw that it said they were made in Pakistan. i know we’re not at war with the Pakistanis, i told my bff, but arent they hiding Osama? so we passed.

saw some nice illegal turtles birds and bunnies being sold though.

today is pitt’s birthday. hes 27.

actually his birthday was on friday but because facebook has decided to hide what was probably their best feature (telling you when your friends’ birthdays are) i didnt find out till today. so lets pretend today is pitts birthday. and that hes 27.

pitt knows fun. which explains why hes in the army. pitt can sing any song, on stage, at the mic, whether he knows the words or not, and it will be funny and it will be way better than the original. we share the common love of the music of elvis costello, the pogues, tom waits, and rock group tsar. and we share the common love of the beatitful viv, his betrothed.

all the world loves pitt but viv loves him most. raymi comes in a close second, with fil not too far behind. im sure if i lived in the gta id be the treasurer of the pattrick pitt fan club, and not just for the sweet jays tickets.

pitt loves sports and might be the reason why the jays are beating up all over the AL East minus ted lily aj burnett and reed johnson. although pitt sports his lyle overbay jersey whenever possible, he secretly wants one that says johnson on the back.

the general and i met long ago in the sands of iraq during the short lived operation desert shield. although the xbi rarely works on international matters, we had heard of the canadian lad and wanted to see if he might be interested in a different line of work. he politely declined and has grown into quite a man.

even drunk, he can appreciate a nice hardwood floor when others are far less adventurous.

happy birthday commander pitt, shining star of the city of my dreams. may the wind always be at your back and if a bartender spits in a drink i hope its not yours.

Casie Stewart: Friday Question for you: How tall are you?

tall enough for some bunnies, not tall enough for others

raymi: do you ever suffer from anxiety attacks and if so what do you do to deal i am actually having one right now.

i dont believe i have ever suffered from an anxiety attack, but when i was being recruited by the xbi they slipped something in my dr. pepper and the walls started moving after about an hour and the carpet looked like it was breathing and i started having all these negative thoughts in my head revolving around how God was soooo disappointed in me. then i fell into what sylvia plath would have considered a bell jar and i felt like i was in a tunnel that had no exit. at some point i questioned everything including if i was really alive. it was then that a girl in a green tank top dress whispered “youve been poisoned, just ride it out until things are normal again” which didnt help at the time but later i realized it was great advice.

holmes: Hey man, what the hell ever happened to Meesh? http://meeshness.blogspot.com/ That chick was the bomb.

ah yes, meesh… floated into our lives, made it better, and just as mysteriously floated out. she was the real deal. and a pretty good blogger. last i heard from her she was in the rockies surrounded by pretty boys with deep pockets. sigh times a million.

alecia: can i come visit this summer?

only if you bring teh awesome that we read about on screech n bone.

g/d: need a art agent, anyone? how about you Tony?

ive only painted three paintings: “bruce sutter and i playing catch in the back yard”, “shepard and sheep dog in field of blood”, and “baby jesus in tj” and two thirds of those are in my possession. i think raymi and krista could probably use some representation though.

bigg mike: what do you suggest for an out of work reporter? mr. laist? mr la times? ps. luv your blog…

reporters should be the best paid bloggers but some of them only want to write a handful of times a week. that would be fine in a group blog situation, but if you are an out of work reporter and you think you could post 5-6 times a day, i bet you could get a gig blogging for a good number of outlets, including blogs run by magazines tv stations or newspapers. but first id recommend that you blog on a blogspot blog so you have something to show your prospective employers.

Scott T. Sterling: Sasha Grey vs. Stevie Hart. Which one and why?

id pick sasha grey. shes so intense. i dont think anyones seen anything like her. and at such a young age. its pretty fascinating. i really wanna see her new movie but for some reason the amazon preview pay per dvd thing doesnt wanna work on my mac.

rl: If you were going back to school this year what would you take?

i think i took all the right classes. i would probably just pay a little more attention.

zona: when are you gonna trade that beater in for a new car?

my beater is a beater, but the readers of the busblog gave it to me, so its kind of hard to just toss it for a hybrid or a muscle car. but the truth is im only embarrassed of it when im at a place that has valet and im standing there with all these other people and their shiny new cars roll up and mine arrives and ive gotta try to play it off. its a good excercise though. particularily because i should be riding the bus more often.

timmay!!!!!: when will david ortiz hit his first HR of 2009?????

hopefully this weekend, especially since i just traded andre either for him in one league and ive got him in 2-3 others. two years ago he hit over 50. i see him knocking out 30 this year. at least!

Sharp: When will you write another super inspiring post that will get everyone revved up to blog like it’s the freshest shoes in kicksville?

when big papi hits 30 homers.

keir: When will we all be able to enjoy the Case/Storey secret formula of blog awesomeness? Some of us have a professional interest in that.

from the desk of mr case came the tips, and then mr storey did the handiwork. it only took duane about 15 minutes. it was as easy as mr case described. easy if you know what the heck some of this means:

1. make a brand new, test blog so you can see how it works hosting on blogspot. Cname map it to whatever.tonypierce.com so you can see how that part works: http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=58317

2. write down your FTP config stuff (email it to yourself) in case you need it later

3. make a “final” post to your blog at its ftp site, and maybe update the template with as “my blog has moved” link or something

4. in Settings | Publishing, change it to publish to blogspot, with “busblog.tonypierce.com” (or whatever) as the custom domain

5. then start posting to the blog at its new location.

not sure im totally thrilled that the url is blog.tonypierce.com because SEO-wise and Technorati-wise its screwing me, but on the other hand, i dont mind starting over with a far more reasonable url. plus i love how instantly things publish now.

David: Two part q…What’s your drink of choice these days and what superpower would you choose to rock?

even though i should be drinking amstel lite, i like stella, pbr, and the high life in the day, guiness at night, and baileys at last call. the superpower i would like the most is the ability to communicate in a way that others get it.

do you know i love you?

i do

yesterday morning i was in the worst mood. no one knows why.

could it have been because i had Big Papi on so many of my fantasy leagues and he hasnt hit a dinger yet? maybe. could it be because one cheerleader after another has one complaint after another about my bachelor pad and usually leaves my humble abode unsatisfied and pissy, threatening to tell all their girlfriends, thus subtracting from my good name? nah.

could it have been the fact that blogger wasnt working well for me for the second week in a row? maybe. actually probably.

even though i have nothing amazing to say, ever, sometimes its just nice to be able to say it. and when that window is slammed shut and i dont knwo how to jimmy it open its frustrating beyond belief.

but because the merciful Lord loves me, he has surrounded me with people like former Blogger/Google product manager Eric Case who emailed me the secret formula on how to move my blog out of the antiquated Blogger FTP world and into something stronger better faster.

sadly that knowledge was like pearls to swine and fell on deaf ears. until yesterday when i forwarded the info to another person the Lord blessed me with, one Duane Storey who looked at the instructions and in minutes was able to create blog.tonypierce.com which is where you are reading these whines, presently.

and the damn thing works like a charm.

during that painful period the one thing that brought a smile to my face were funny chats by Ali, Sass, and Karisa. which id love to share with you but they were of a personal nature and far too saucy for the dinner hour.

which fast approaches, so i must bid adeiu to you all. but before i do lets just say that i learned that the most priceless and valuable gift in our lives are our friends, who keep us sane and happy and grounded. much love to all of you.
