update: its back up

so i took the subway. it was nice.

today i will go home at a reasonable hour and run around my neighborhood cuz im a disgusting pig. i will eat salad for lunch and the souls of the righteous for dinner. i will break up with the girl who told me i couldnt blog because hello how do you think she met me? i will then watch Lost and rejoice.

had the most delicious sushi last night that i didnt pay for. drank and enjoyed pleasant company.

before that i found myself in a discussion regarding the Green Movement. and the reason Al Gore needs to make himself a bigger player in the national discussion is because some very intelligent people think its all hype. and if thats what some movers and shakers in LA, and cool ones at that, think those thoughts, then i wonder how its playing in Peoria.

unrelated: our Daily Dish blog has a really funny post about the Guac Bowl that took place Sunday. written by my former Film Editor of LAist, Elina Shatkin, this post hit the front page of Digg this morning. which is always nice.

I said how I’m gonna blog if there’s no computers in here she was all you’ll find a way so don’t think about it. She said think about me. I said didn’t I think of you for a good 4 minutes there. She sighed and rolled closer to me and put her arm around me. Whispered clap if you want the light off. I clapped. Lights went off. I stared at the shadows on the ceiling. I put my hand on her booty short. I tried to remember where my car was parked. Young people talked loud in the next apartment. I thought about investigating the mirror that changed my life at work. It showed me how fat I am. I looked at myself like ten times. It was right before I did yoga for the first time. I know, who am I?

In college I could barely eat a slice of pizza all day. I could eat half a slice for lunch and another half for dinner. For some reason I also loved buffets even tho all I’d eat was jello.

I stared at the ceiling and played with her hair. How was this still happening to me. And who was this young woman who thought she could tell me what to do. Let alone when and where to blog.

Whoever she was she sure was soft.

I decided I would listen to her cuz her place was sweet and I know this is gonna sound corny but it was like she put thought into every kiss.

But in the wee hours of Feb. 1 in the opulent basement of his Beverly Hills mansion — a rec room that boasts a Prince-emblazoned pool table and and an encased “Purple Rain” motorcycle — Prince played an equally wide-ranging and mind-boggling set for a far more intimate gathering of fewer than 50 people, all of it designed to celebrate the launch of his Website lotusflow3r.com.

After a presentation of the new site, which looks to be an all-encompassing portal to Prince’s history as well as a direct line to the three albums he has slated for 2009 (the first being “Lotus Flow3r”, the electro-charged ’80s flashback “MLPSound” and the debut of his latest protégé Bria Valente), Prince emerged for post-press conference concert with a blistering rendition of the Cars’ 1979 new wave hit “Let’s Go.”

Prince led his lethal band, including the amazingly hard-hitting female drummer Cora Dunham, through a nearly two-hour set. It was a rollicking, celebratory affair, and it included takes on the Rolling Stones (“Miss You”), the Doobie Brothers (“Long Train Running”), Mary J. Blige (“Be Happy”) and a Sly & the Family Stone medley.

but whats more important is they are fighting to win another popularity contest, this one is the Weblog Awards – aka the Bloggies.

as you might recall, the busblog won a Bloggy way back in the dark ages, but now Wonkette is up for multiple B’s, and since they are friends of ours, i urge you to vote right now, and help Ken and Sara and i think even Fat is contributing over there too, not sure thought. doesnt matter. Vote for Wonkette while you can!

now that i have had time to see the game and the commercials and have it all settle in, this is what i think. i think i need to go on vacation next super bowl weekend. i think i need to go to vegas and take monday off, maybe tuesday too. dont get me wrong, its nice to be in the office and its nice to chat with people about the game and the commercials and the half time show and all that, but super bowl really oughtta be a national holiday where everyone gets monday off to clean up the bbq and recycle the beer cans.

— as good as last night’s game was, ratings-wise it was going to be hard to beat the matchup between the undefeated patriots attempt at perfection against the new york giants. huge markets with dogs in the fight have an advantage over a pittsburgh/phoenix battle, so its good to see that the drop off in viewership was just 6%

— yes the cardinals lost the game, but it looks like michael phelps lost the month.

— that damn groundhog saw its shadow. six more weeks of 80 degree temps in LA i guess.

— jerry brown is running for governor again. lets hope gary coleman runs against him.

— i know if you wanna shed some pounds you should step away from the guacamole dip, but can fasting help you lose weight?
