i want a candy bar

but im at work and its a long way to the machine

so im eyeing this packet of Mayonaise that’s tempting me from across my desk.

these are the reasons the terrorists hate us.

if they still do hate us, which i doubt they do.

the only people who should hate us are the Canadians because we pollute their waters and skies and talk trash about their health care – as if!

tonight im gonna have some drinks with the man who sold me the old car

then i am gonna go home and dig into Proverbs.

im more than half way through the bible – cover to cover – and i feel like im picking up steam.

one lesson i learned from Psalms: dont be a cheesy ass boring whiner

do you know who i miss? the pants.

pictured here without any.

if you add up all the good moments i had with the pants and subtract all the not so good moments, you’d have a negative number.

but she had a few things going for her that i really admire.

lets start with the karaoke.

ive known quite a few people who are really into karaoke, but that girl’d karaoke to pretty much anything anywhere

any time.

once we went karaoking at a club that once pulled the plug on a band named nirvana. she was so drunk she later puked on the way home. but like how jim nahbors never stutters when he sings, the pants didnt slur while she was drunkaraoking.

which brings us to her dancing.

damn natural. would dance to anything. anywhere.

even at her most annoying someone would turn on the radio and shed get to dancing. not really in a sexy way, more like a happy way. didnt matter if the room was filled mostly with dudes who ended up just watching, shed dance and smile and itd make you think about the song better.

but the reason i miss her is because she was a blogger at the very top of the top percentile.

i dont know why she stopped, what shes up to, what her deal is, or why the caged bird doesnt sing, but the blogosphere and in turn, the world, is missing out on something very special.

which when in one of her blog posts,

was never annoying.

not once.

there was a time when no one said no to me about nothing

hey everyone lets do this, id say and they would.

hey you two girls lets have a fashion show contest and theyd be all whoo hooo.

id write letters to famous companies and theyd say omg tony pierce wants to work for us? roll out the red carpets.

but life changes. mojo gets stolen. hair disappears. bellies inflate. etc etc etc. and people get used to saying no to me.

not sure i understand it. other than this is the part of life that separates the man from the boy. not sure i like it. but will have to maintain decorum. and drink more of course.

and read more books because clearly im not the only soul who has found himself living a life he was never prepared to live.

ok fine, books on tape.

films based on books.

that can be found streaming on netflix.

after all these years it was pretty great to see The Wall

i didnt take a lot of pictures because for most of the show i was all wow.

pretty much as expected, bro built a wall as they played the songs from the album

your pal the pig was there

they even had a very classy intermission

afterwards we took the train home and karisa tried to hide her bangs – to no avail

it rained a little and we shoulda prob taken a cab home but it was fun to ride with LA

especially my first place Bears fan who had the hat, jacket, and even gloves

i <3 LA

excited to see The Wall with these people

people say oh but its just Roger Waters, it isnt most of Pink Floyd

and id argue that hes the most important part

he wrote most of it, sang most of it, Is it.

the Radio K.A.O.S. tour in like ’86 was one of the greatest shows ive ever seen, still. and that was Rogers minus all of Floyd and it was tremendous.

meanwhile what has Floyd done without Waters? anything interesting? nothing in the slightest. theyve lost their voice and direction.

sure this tour is a cash cow money grab where the cheapest tickets are over $125 in these cavernous arenas.

but in these days where everyone is doing concerts of their best albums in their entirety (pixies, devo, public enemy, weezer, van morrison… even steely dan) whats so wrong with a guy doing a monster album all the way through, especially since when the record came out there wasnt much of a tour because of the ginormousness of the production.

even though i was extremely aware of the material before i made it to college, it was there, particularily with rob and chris that i became re-immersed with it due to the steady diet of all things floyd zep and dead coming from their hippie commune.

add karisa into the mix who also counts the wall as one of her all time faves then we have an educated and motivated group to a) preparty correctly b) use public transpo to the event and c) experience the magic with fond memories attached to each measure

there was a time when i thought of the wall as simply a depressing album about war and loss. but now it seems deeper than that – a grand and wild whole made up of individually crafted parts of perfection.

its also something we havent heard before or, sadly, since.

i took a long walk today

i went to the koreatown karwash to get the old car detailed for danielle, he said come back in 3 hours

so i strolled and thought of all the good times i have had in that car

the time i drove to vancouver during christmas

the time i drove around the country to thank all the kids for chipping in to buy me the car

the time i got personal with that long haired asian girl on sunset plaza drive

the time i spent hours one night just convincing that other girl to hold my hand

i got it at a time when i didnt really need a car, but it was so good and so cheap, i had to

while walking i saw this store and thought, does this mean you have 10 year old imports?

while i was walking i ate kfc till this bum saw me and said whoah whoah so i gave him the rest

not sure why people had put sunflowers on the gloved ones star

not sure i could ever leave hollywood

ever
