my girlfriend Tasha from israel has a new video

you might recognize her from the vid she did about two years ago when she lipsynched with her sister to the Pixies’ “Hey” (below). that vid got over 19 million views on YouTube.

this week she made a new lipsync vid to the Aimee Mann version of “One”.

seems like she likes one-word titles. so lets hope she gets around one day to doing my favorite Tsar tune, “Wrong”.

baby, do you take requests?

today is moxie von foxy’s birthday

today she turns 25. i know. freaky.

not your typical rightwing blogger, moxie refused to be part of the pajamas media clusterfuck, outwardly talks shit about the tennessee professor, and occasionally finds herself giving out her phone number to african americans (pictured).

i first met moxie at super producer brian linse’s historic LA blog party way back in ’02. pretty much everyone who mattered was there: doc searls, matt and emmanuelle, ben sullivan, eric and dawn olsen, bill quick the man who invented the word blogosphere, greg vaine, mickey kaus, and even charles johnson of little green footballs.

it was clearly a moment out of Quadraphenia because we were innocents talking in a shower, not yet realizing that some of us were mods and others were rockers. thus we all got along. and now some of us are pretending that we hate each other depending on whether we think the current president is the worst ever or otherwise.

mox and i have always kept politics out of it which is why we have stayed friends all this time. usually she just smiles and i just undress her with my eyes. simple.

most recently we could be heard on her nowlive radio show, MoxVox, but because (for some reason) she let her sorta boyfriend and her parents know that she was on the radio, i was instructed not to talk about sex drugs and rock. the trinity for good radio. thus i went my own way and she hers. but trust me i watched her walk out and told her how well she was moving that assssss.

’07 wasnt particularly kind to our girl. two of her closest friends passed away: cathy seipp, and her constant companion, the feline Bentley.

i believe she also got rid of her Porsche. damn shame.

what i love about the photo above is it captures the moment when, minutes after we met, she began telling me her phone number.

i love that we both seem very happy about it all.

happy birthday baby. i hope you have your go go boots on.

ron paul on wolf blitzer on friday answering the charges of racism

basically he says he didnt write the racist statements, repudiates them, and is the only candidate who wants to free those in jail (60% of whom are Minorities) who are there for non-violent drug charges. and he wants to stop policing the world.

sorta sounds like what i talked about in the comments the other day.

is Ron Paul the most eloquent man? hells no.

does he care more about Black people than any of the other candidates?

ironically, on paper, it sure looks that way.

today is ashley’s 25th birthday.

i know i cant believe it either.

six years ago i was going through a very rough break up with the girl of my dreams.

most guys would have just jumped off a bridge, traded arms for hostages, or joined the french foreign legion. for some reason i decided to throw myself into designing web pages.

in doing a little “research” to find photos of miss drew barrymore, i stumbled upon a fansite about the actress. in the folders of one of the message boards i saw that “daisy_princess” was quite active in the community.

at the same time my bros Tsar were starting their band in full force.

i had the brilliant idea that if someone as excited and motivated as daisy_princess was just as in love with Tsar as she was in drew, Tsar would get huge.

turned out, instead, that i began to fall for her, and vice versa, but because i was in such a dark, sad, lonely place, i didnt realize that the feelings were mutual until i went out to las vegas four months into our email/chat relationship to meet the young lady in question.

the year was 2001 and ashley was 19. she looked 16. i was in my late 90s, and looked twice that. still, for some reason love was blind and she was way into me. why? who knows. of course i was into her because she was way smart, way exciting, and very fun to simply be around. it was one of the few times that I was the one trying to simply be friends and nothing more. in fact none of our four months of correspondences were anything other than PG chats, if not G. 5-6 hours long, true, but never adult orientated.

once i met her though i told her that it wouldnt work because, obviously, she was insane and would soon wake up from her delirium and learn that i was a dirty old man who might have originally had fine intentions but that nonsense would soon leave the building.

ashley however was not one who took no for an answer. she would pout and cry and stomp her feet and cry and yell and stalk and write and cry and cry and snark and beg and cry. for three years, for some reason i resisted her and for three years she was basically my girlfriend.

she even moved to california. not to be closer to me, of course, but lo, there she was. and the busblog was created during all of this, and the website ended, and even though i was heartbroken from my previous relationship, being with the daisy princess was the greatest cure for a broken heart. ever.

today she lives with her fiance in las vegas. she works at her fathers construction company and she is surrounded with her long time friends and her hot sisters.

i miss her deeply.

and when i tell you that im the luckiest man in the world, she is one of my finest reasons why.

and besides, look at how she motivated my webskillz back in the day.

happy birthday daisy girl from the desert world. thanks for stalking me and keeping our friendship going despite my best wishes for you. thank you for showing me a side of love that most people dont understand. thanks for always wanting attention. thanks for always giving attention.

you look better than ever. and whatever your dudes name is, hes a lucky bastard.

xoxoxox

ps any time you wanna rent a car with me, im there

tonight i had to go to a sweet bar to have some “meetings”

it made me happy.

before that i had some meetings with some very smart people.

that made me happy too.

i am exactly at the exact perfect place at the exact perfect time.

then my boss agreed and encouraged me on a dozen things. and i ordered business cards.

and i got approved to go to SXSW!

then i made some fancy business calls. and everyone said yes to me.

and then i ate turkey dinner that was like christmas.

after drinks i drove this very smart dude to hollywood and highland but because hes new to LA he had never been there before (!)

then i met a super hot babe at my house and we looked at dirty pics on my laptop and told her about Stopwatch

and we watched Ron Paul win the debates.

after she left, i saw Raymi’s art show pics and believe it or not but that made me even more happy than all of the above, especially the picture above.

as you know the busblog is fixin to be an LA Times PR blog

in that, every day i will tell you how cool the paper is.

something that i didnt even realize until i started working here.

if you recall, i did this when i worked at E!, then i did that when i worked at Buzznet, and most recently i did that when i worked at LAist

ps i heart you

anyways today i learned, from a blog that talks about Los Angeles’ Past(usually things that happened here 50 years ago) that there is a website called

the IMCDB – the Internet Car Database

which documents, logs, organizes, and takes a picture of many of the cars and trucks in films.

above is a GMC truck from the family favorite film “Dead Like Me
