such a full day

and a fuller night

furst the truest and i went to see Tony Clifton at the Comedy Store

SOOOO GOOOD

super dirty, ridiculously offensive, so much fun.

full band including horns, two burlesque dancers, and another young woman on stage

plus Tony. it was a marathon show.

then at midnite i dropped her off at her place and sped over to the grove to see MacGruber

andy sternberg and a young lady joined the LAT Movie Club

we ran into the DP of the film as well as @Zadi and her pals who were having girls nite out

im totally exhausted right now its 338am, but i had to write this cuz in 6 hours karisa arrives

to drive us both to Vegas for a long weekend.

when i return there will be a Lost finale to watch and be sad about.

but until then lets continue the fun.

whats mj doing?

i understand the kids today and how they want to pretend theyre fashion icons.

and maybe the guy with the most popular sneakers in the world thinks hes setting a trend by busting out the hitler stache in the middle of his undershirt commercial.

a twist on the fab four saying that charles manson stole helter skelter and they were stealing it back

mj, it’s ok for hitler to steal the hitler mustache. absolutely no need to steal it back.

my only hope is this is michaels version of when nirvana found itself on the cover of rolling stone

and in an attempt to retain its street cred wore the tshirt with

corporate magazines still suck

scrawled across kurdts chest.

maybe this is michael’s way of saying yeah im here selling out hawking undershirts

but im such a damn badass, even centuries after retiring, that i can rock this

while

selling totally blank tshirts.

the kids on twitter are talking about it and one guy ended his tweet

#idontwannabelikemike

you’ll see some crazy things driving down the streets of Los Angeles

this, for example, is a storefront i noticed the other day while driving down Fairfax Blvd. about 10 minutes east of Beverly Hills.

yes, a medical marijuana establishment claiming that none of their items cost more than $45.

is that a good value? who knows? sadly ive never touched the stuff nor ever bought any, so how would i know. it sounds like theyre bragging about it, so it must be a great deal. any experts in the peanut gallery?

speaking of the devils weed, i have a friend who landed a job as a Census Taker. he was telling me all these horror stories (off the record because the job is surprisingly confidential) and none of the tales fascinated me as much as this one: that everywhere he walks he smells that aroma that most of us only experience at Pink Floyd concerts. no not money being burned to listen to the same old same old we’ve all memorized by now, but mary jane!

it made me want to interview mail men, plumbers, and delivery boys to see if all of LA had the same “problem”. unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) i live in a part of Hollywood in very close proximity to one of the largest churches in town. So any time that I am walking all i ever smell are the scents of freshly laid turds by the neighborhood dogs.

or pee from the homeless.

it was fascinating to read about the results of the elections held around our great nation last night because change continues to sweep this fine land. and it will be interesting to see, if marijuana becomes legal, if the aromas on one side of town will drift out of the windows of homes all around town. i cant imagine any of that happening (legalization, or mass smoking), but id be curious how people react to such a noticeable change if indeed change comes to town.

black is beautiful

the music video just like poetry and reason wont die simply because popular culture has turned its back on it.

most good things dont cost a lot of money. most good things simply start with a genius idea.

most good things go better with you.

tomorrow night at The Grove at midnight the LA Times Movie Club will be going to see MacGruber.

is The Grove ridiculous? yep.

is MacGruber going to be stupid and fun? probs.

are midnight movies something that pretty much guarantees fun and ridiculousness? oh yeah.

which is why i will be there in a mullet wig, a flannel, and a puffy vest

then in the morn i’ll be in vegas

for no good reason.

other than to further the art of american blogging in america

yes sometimes i do believe the Lord hardens our hearts

mine too.

but i dont think he does it as much as i think.

personally i think the Lord has better things to do than micro manage our lives

but who knows, maybe everything else is running on automatic,

or maybe He created us just so he could tinker with pretty much everything.

which would explain why the weather’s so janky.

if that were the case, i wish He’d tinker with popular music.

seems to me that back in the 60s 70s and 80s there was a lot of divine intervention going on with the rock.

what else could you call it? tonight i downloaded (legally, natch) a greatest hits of Dio.

emusic. 12 units (about $5). theres more great music in this album for five bucks

than the hundreds of thousands being spent to convince me that todays sounds arent laughable.

i could use a little divine intervention from time to time.

i wonder if im hardening my heart to that possibility.

i talk about her a lot because

shes the only one who talks to me

and i only like to talk in hottubs.

she said i know you have a secret blog and im hurt that you wont tell me where it is.

i said baby trust me if i had a secret blog youd be the first to know about it.

she said but wouldnt you have a blog so you could write freely about all the other girls

i was all sweet miracle from Above, not only arent there any other girls, but if there were why wouldnt i just write To them instead of in secret About them.

the record player made it to the end of the record. the tone arm rose up a tad, glided across the top of the platter and waited.

a new record dropped ontop of the finished one, and the arm moved over a bit, slowly lowered, and the needle found its groove and music returned to the dark room.

outside the tub bubbled.

and they continued.

i just dont want there to be any more secrets, she whispered and watched the bubbles form around his muscular midsection.

bloggers arent known to be so cut, she thought, but this one, damn it, what a man.

he caught her looking at him. he was uncomfortable being loved for his body.

but he was growing used to it.

a tale of two bacons

this weekend the truest and i spent the weekend together.

we ate out a lot cuz i dont like her to cook when we’re together,

but yesterday morn she woke me up with some tofu bacon which i gotta say wasnt half bad

but it was nothing like the real crispy bacon we had at CJ’s on Pico on saturday

CJ’s is a place frequented almost completely by african americans

but run by mexican americans, who are also the cooks.

so when i ordered apple juice they asked “would you like fresh squeezed”?

who doesnt want fresh squeezed?

turns out they gave me a horchata. first one i ever had.

and not half bad either.
