even though when i heard him speak last month in LA i was less than impressed with tonights winner of the democratic caucus in iowa

and even though if the election was held tonight i wouldnt vote for him

because i dont think hes truly serious about getting us out of the iraq civil war pronto

and because i dont believe that he is even slightly interested in stopping this madness of pretending that we can be the policeman of the world,

which is bankrupting this country

and causing the world to fucking hate us, rightfully.

but if you dont think im happy that a black man from chicago won handily in a place like iowa, for president of the united states, then you dont know me very well.

how john mccain got 13% of republican voters is baffling because it means the mr matt welch hasnt sold very many of his books – which means there are lots to sell buddy

and its also fascinating that the people of iowa had 13% of their voters give the nod to that dude from Law & Order

n people call me crazy.

back to tonight’s winner, ms huffington has this to say:

Even if your candidate didn’t win tonight, you have reason to celebrate. We all do.

Barack Obama’s stirring victory in Iowa — down home, folksy, farm-fed, Midwestern, and 92 percent white Iowa — says a lot about America, and also about the current mindset of the American voter.

Because tonight voters decided that they didn’t want to look back. They wanted to look into the future — as if a country exhausted by the last seven years wanted to recapture its youth.
