Octavia Nasr, CNN’s senior editor of Mideast affairs, lost her post Wednesday amid mounting criticism of a message she posted on Twitter expressing sadness at the death of a Lebanese cleric who once was an influential spiritual leader of the Shiite militant group Hezbollah.

Nasr, who had worked for the cable news network for two decades, had already apologized in a blog post on CNN.com for “an error in judgment” in writing that Ayatollah Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah was “one of Hezbollah’s giants I respect a lot” after his death Sunday.

so whats the lessson? think twice before you tweet, especially if its in relation to your gig.

my biggest problem with them is i dont find them entertaining enough.

if they popped out telling jokes, juggling, doing sleight-of-hand tricks, then fine, sign me up.

but they dont. they come out hungry, soiled, and wanting.

they wont even speak to you for the first year or two. then they wont stop.

dont we have televisions? arent some even in 3D?

anyways, if i could be assured that 20 years after giving birth to a son that he would do this to me and my beloved, and then film it, and then edit it so that there would be picture-in-picture, then YES i would reproduce my incredible seed.

until then i will have to just keep watching this repeatedly and laughing.

because soon i’ll be dieting

and on the wall they have pictures of people who tried and succeeded in eating a two pound cheeseburger in one sitting.

almost everyone on the wall were dudes.

me i ate a 1/2 pound burger and nearly died on the way home because my belly is not used to red meat as i am all about the white meat and fish

so i eat fritos. little fun sized bags.

tiny little things that they make for kids to put in their lunch boxes.

but i just looked up at the clock and its 1:31am and she hasnt come over.

she txted that she wasnt coming over, but who trusts modern technology?

but here it is super late, so i put on my slippers and make my way downstairs to the pantry and eye some sun chips.

and as i down em i realize that these arent that bad for ones breath.

the day had started so well. there was apple juice and sunlight.

a request for soul food breakfast, but alas it was packed.

and heres one thing i truly adore about my truest, shes really up for anything

drove past roscoes: too crowded. drove past lucy’s: too not nitetime

drove past this little soul food place – 1130am – and figured why not

which is my name backwards, but everyone forgets.

and the rest of the day just went down hill.

some days you peak at the apple juice.

and the most interesting dining choices.

i went to a party on the 4th and noticed there were grapes growing from the knotted vines above

even got to try out the new lens a little more

didnt see any fireworks, but ate well

and read more of the bible than ever before.

the first was Tom Waits in 1986 at the Wiltern.

the other was Janes Addiction last night at the Roxy.

yes i had just seen Jane’s last month at Staples as part of that Activision party.

and it was really nice to see Duff from Guns n Roses on bass.

but the Roxy is a super special place. a proper rock club. right there on the sunset strip. so historic, so amazing, so perfect.

fortunately someone with super inside access was able to provide these clips from last night’s show.

and strangely he marked them “Sunset Strip Music Festival”, which it is not.

but did he tip his hand? will Jane’s play the same Fest later this summer that Smashing Pumpkins was announced to headline?

now that would be a very good show indeed.
