this is what it looks like in a huge panel discussion

this is a great one about Twitter tools moderated by Guy Kawasaki. Scoble was able to make it on the panel. thank god.

the hashtag is #twittertools

theyre trying to figure out what are the best tools in which to maximize yr twitter experience

and now theyre talking about who could dethrone twitter

the panel thinks facebook could possibly, but probably wont

finally theyre getting around to Google Buzz but even that isnt a huge threat.

foursquare and gowalla is now being talked about.

what i love about these panels is, they are good conversations, but how do you predict these trends? twitter was here as Blogger in ’03 but how could anyone have predicted twitter’s splash in ’06 and dominance today?

so even though its fun to speculate, you cant really see the future of this world because it market really does think outside the box.

who on earth would have thought that a cap at 140 characters, via something americans werent using that much (SMS text messaging) would be The Answer for what was missing in social media?

update: Ev’s Twitter keynote is getting decidedly mixed reviews – i keep telling you hes soft spoken!

two of my favorite people

one works for me, the other works for all of us

mr evan williams and mr mark milian at the Twitter Party at sxsw.

black joe lewis played and were terrific.

so many people wanted to get in, not even Robert Scoble could work his magic

but those of us who were lucky enough to slide in were treated by cool peeps, free beers

and excellent conversations with some of the most powerful people in the internets.

afterwards i followed my nose and found a late nite bbq place and got a brisket sandwich

tonight there are lots of parties

`
like tonight Google and Blogger have their bash

blog ads and pbs have their annual deal starring a concert by Band of Skulls

and twitter has their first official sxsw party (i think) right on 6th st

and yet all i can do is think of you

and how much youd like the food and drink and odd situations

for example today me and amy saw this cub fan posing with the dallas cowboy cheerleaders

the state of montana booth next door didnt seem to mind

the most important feature of hotels

is the do not disturb technology

most places have little door handle signs. those arent any good

some have do not disturb on one side and hey please come in on the other

those are the worst. sometimes you accidentally are showing the wrong side. or jokestersll flip em

the best technology involves the sign being part of the door. like a slider. or a lock.

like maybe if you put the deadlock on the door a little sign is revealed saying dont disturb

cuz maybe you have the deadlock on cuz you were on a party bus all night

and daylight savings has suddenly become your frienemy.

there was this colorful school bus

that yanked me out of the digg party at stubbs

on the bus was several cases of molson canadian, dozens of people, karaoke

and this charming lass who kept calling me darling

or dear or something, i had already had some margueritas somewhere else and a fosters at digg

the karoake wasnt bad, touch screen somehow. magically probably.

so many drinks on board. and actual good looking girls which is either a sign of the times or a miracle. this isnt how its normally here. anyways

i kept walking away from yr girl in that video but she was all come here.

finally i had too many beers in me. and the bus kept going in circles.

some say it was looking for kk+

someone put avril on. then we were stopped. gas station. then the cto from aol was buying case after case of budweiser. some 12 packs, some 6 packs, some 24 packs.

god i had to go. shes from bc. flawless. but then it stopped. then they told us to get out.

then eye spied with my little eye a dumpster in the dark in an alley.

and when i was done i ate the most delicious korean taco.

but hes also the creator and curator of Science Blog

ben is a mix between dr drew, jerry mathers, and mark wahlburg in boogie nights – because hes great at karate.

happy birthday ben! glad you didnt die in that IV shootout in the picture

how did the ucsb gaucho mascot do at the mascot competition?

good of course. and its nice to see that our cheerleaders are just like how they were back in the day.

today my boss was nice enough to give me the day off so i can do crazy errands in preparation of heading off to sxsw.

so because we’re keeping it real today, heres things i gotta do:

laundry
get that $100 lens
get two 4 gig sd cards
go to the po box
get some sunglasses
get a key made for the housesitter
get a light coat since im too fat for this one
get an external hard drive

find a good twitter badge to put on the busblog
